Gunnison City Public Works is Hiring a Seasonal Worker
Part time Seasonal Maintenance Worker: Will work 40 hours per week, pay will be $20 an hour. Performs a variety of skilled journey level duties related to installation, maintenance, and repair of City water system, streets, parks, cemetery, other facilities, and any other duties assigned by the Public Works Supervisor.
The minimum requirements are graduation from high school or equivalent, must possess a valid Utah’s driver’s license, must be able to lift 100 lbs., must work on 24 hour on-call basis.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: considerable knowledge of operating heavy equipment and basic manual hand tools; considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions associated with construction of water lines, streets, parks; considerable knowledge of the operation of a variety of light and heavy equipment such as rollers, backhoes, and graders, salting trucks, snowplows, etc...
Ability to follow simple instructions; ability to perform strenuous manual labor, ability to tolerate weather extremes in work environment; ability communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to work effectively with fellow employees and the public.
