Water Restrictions

Due to the severity of the drought this year, Gunnison City is implementing water restrictions effective June 19, 2026.  The attached image shows which days of the week residents are allowed to use outdoor irrigation water. (For example. Residents north of Center Street and west of Main Street are permitted to water on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.)  Residents south of the Sanpitch River are limited to no more than 200 gallons per day per irrigation share. No irrigation use is permitted on Sunday. This should help the city pond fill up for each new week of watering. Residents are reminded that no outdoor watering should occur between 10am and 6pm.  Residents are encouraged to voluntarily only water two days per week.  These restrictions are subject to change as conditions warrant.
